Product Overview

Creality Ender-3 Max Specification

Overview

There's a Bowden extruder inside.

This Bowden extruder means that the extruder is mounted on the frame of the actual printer rather than the tip. The filament then travels through a PTFE tube to reach the hot end, and out onto the print.

The printer can use MK8 nozzles.

The usable filament diameter is a 1.75 mm diameter.

There are 1 extruders in the printer. Having more than one extruder attached to the printer can help you print material faster, as the printer can focus on multiple elements at once.

The recommended maximum printing speed is 180 mm/s. This printing speed can affect the quality of the print, so make sure this speed falls within ranges you would like.

You'll get a 300 mm x 300 mm x 340 mm in the Creality Ender-3 Max, so make sure everything you want to print fits in this. You can make do by making your print in pieces, and then assembling, however, sometimes you'll just need a larger build area.

The Ender 3 Max is not the printer I was expecting it to be. Instead of adding a few upgrades to improve upon the popular Ender 3, Creality just installed a bigger glass bed and longer extrusions without considering all the implications. I can’t find a good reason to buy the Ender 3 Max at a price point of around 330$ because there are other larger format printers out there. But in the future, if the price of the printer gets lower, then it might be decent alternative to larger format 3D printers, as long as you know all the issues it comes with.

The Ender 3 Max will interest makers who want to print big without investing big. Keeping in tradition with Creality’s Ender 3 line of churning out prints reliably and with little effort, the Ender 3 Max hits the sweet spot between affordability, functionality, and accessibility. Although dressed in old clothes, this 3D printer is suitable both for entry-level users looking for a genuine machine that needs little effort to get it up and running, as well as more experienced makers looking forward to modding and upgrading the printer to their liking.
