Product Overview

The CR-10 Max has a build area of 450 x 450 x 470 mm and is designed for printing high quality prints. It comes with an aluminum plate build surface that is heated and comes with a BL Touch auto leveling system to ensure the print bed is always level. The CR-10 Max can be used with any 1.75mm filament and offers a resolution of 0.1 mm. The extruder is a bowden type, so it does not use a direct drive system, making it more reliable and less prone to jamming or clogging. It also features an all metal hot end for high temperature resistance.

Creality CR-10 Max Specification

Overview

There's a Bowden extruder inside.

This Bowden extruder means that the extruder is mounted on the frame of the actual printer rather than the tip. The filament then travels through a PTFE tube to reach the hot end, and out onto the print.

Performance

The printer can use Cr-10S Pro nozzles.

The usable filament diameter is a 1.75 mm diameter.

There are 1 extruders in the printer. Having more than one extruder attached to the printer can help you print material faster, as the printer can focus on multiple elements at once.

The recommended maximum printing speed is 100 mm/s. This printing speed can affect the quality of the print, so make sure this speed falls within ranges you would like.

You'll get a 450 mm x 450 mm x 470 mm in the Creality CR-10 Max, so make sure everything you want to print fits in this. You can make do by making your print in pieces, and then assembling, however, sometimes you'll just need a larger build area.

Reviewing this printer was an emotional rollercoaster, to say in the least. This is a more premium printer which offers upgraded parts and fancier bits than its CR-10 predecessors, which makes it a more ambitious printer for Creality. And all that makes this is a printer you want to love. It packs together a double punch of huge build volume and brand name components and it’s so close to being just right. In some places, it truly succeeds, but in others, the printer needs a little more fine-tuning to truly shine. Issues with the Cura profile aside (we’ve got our suggestions from Creality further on in the review), the printer is still not quite there. However, we think with a little extra work the Max could be a real winner.
