Product Overview

The Creality CR-30 is a great entry level machine for anyone looking to get into 3D printing. With a large build plate, high resolution, and no need for assembly, this printer is perfect for beginners and experts alike. With a resolution of 0.1 mm and a maximum nozzle temperature of 240 ºC, this machine can print out some pretty detailed pieces. It features a manual leveling system, which makes the process of adjusting the bed surface quick and easy, plus an extruder type of bowden, which means that you don't have to worry about the filament getting stuck in the nozzle, making it easier to use and maintain. Weighing only 16.5 kg, this machine will be easy to move around and set up in your desired location.

Creality CR-30 Specification

There's a Bowden extruder inside.

This Bowden extruder means that the extruder is mounted on the frame of the actual printer rather than the tip. The filament then travels through a PTFE tube to reach the hot end, and out onto the print.

Extruder Type

The printer can use MK8 nozzles.

The usable filament diameter is a 1.75 mm diameter.

There are 1 extruders in the printer. Having more than one extruder attached to the printer can help you print material faster, as the printer can focus on multiple elements at once.

You'll get a ∞ mm x 200 mm x 170 mm in the Creality CR-30, so make sure everything you want to print fits in this. You can make do by making your print in pieces, and then assembling, however, sometimes you'll just need a larger build area.

If you’re interested in a machine capable of serial production and don’t mind spending some time learning how to get the best results from a machine, the Creality CR-30 will likely be a good fit for you. If you are uncomfortable with making adjustments to the hardware of the machine or otherwise want a printer that is simply easier to use, an FDM printer like the Prusa MK3S+ will be a better fit.

The CR30 is a new way of looking at 3D printing. It's exciting, but not without its issues.

I am happy to recommend this printer to most people in the 3D printing community if they have any working knowledge of 3D printing. If you are looking to get into 3D printing because you love cosplay or prop display but have never used a 3D printer, maybe pick up a cheap one to start before you jump into the CR30.
